About Sonshine School
Sonshine School is a family outreach ministry of North Street Church of Christ, which began as a Mother's Day Out program in 1987. It originally served parents and their children three days a week until 2000 — when it was expanded to a five-day-a-week program and became a state-licensed facility. Our goals include: providing a safe place to learn about God through Bible stories, songs and prayers, and providing a learning environment with appropriate activities for each age group.
Sonshine School and church families have the chance to register first. For more information, contact Sonshine School director Susan Bentley at (936) 560-1016, (936) 558-8327 or email susan.sonshineschool@gmail.com.

Miscellaneous
- Daily activities include arts and crafts, Bible stories, special seasonal activities, circle times, learning centers, outside play and loving individual attention. Older children participate in readiness activities that help prepare them for kindergarten. An important part of our program is teaching boys and girls to be happy away from their parents and to learn to get along and make friends with other children.
- Each child should bring a lunch with a drink each day. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m.
- Sonshine School generally follows the Nacogdoches Independent School District calendar so family members affiliated with NISD or SFA should have holidays at the same time.
