Curtis Barbarick: Preaching Minister

Curtis began serving as the Preaching Minister for the North Street Church in July of 2012. He and his wife have two children and three grandchildren. Curtis has a bachelor's from Lubbock Christian University, a master's from Pepperdine University and a D.Min. from Abilene Christian University. He has served churches in California for over 20 years in the capacity as Preaching Minister. Curtis writes a blog that can be found at http://preachercurtis.wordpress.com.

Bill Sherrill: Family Minister

Bill and his wife Scotty have been with the North Street family since 1966. They married off four children during this time and now enjoy 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Bill served as pulpit minister for 32 years and since 1998 has served as family minister, counselor and elder. He received a bachelor's from Harding University and a master's from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Bill publishes a weekly devotional, Thought for the Week, which reaches readers all over the world through the Internet. He has preached revivals in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, New York and Pennsylvania. He has completed mission trips in Mexico, Chile and Ecuador, and spoken on lectureships at Harding University and Abilene Christian University. Bill is a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Scotty Spake: Yellow House Campus Minister

Scotty Spake is currently the minister to our university students. Scotty has been in ministry for over 10 years. He began in Montgomery, Alabama, as a youth minister. He worked there with the Dairaida congregation while finishing his Bible degree at Faulkner University in the summer of 1997. After graduating from Faulkner, he married his wife Tammy. They moved to Nacogdoches in 1999, right after the birth of their first daughter, Hazel Renae.

He served as the North Street Youth Minister for two years before moving back to Alabama to be close to family members. Before leaving Texas, their second daughter, Hannah Mae was born. After serving as Youth and Family Minister at Cullman Church of Christ for a year, Scotty was given an opportunity to enter campus ministry. After a successful two and a half years at Troy University Christian Center, Scotty was given the opportunity to return to Nacogdoches as the Yellow House campus minister.

Scott Wallace: Youth Minister

Scott and Danna Wallace have three children: Chase, Ande and Courtney, and two grandsons. Scott is our youth minister and works with a wonderful group of young people. Danna teaches first grade at Central Heights ISD.

Lisa Grigsby: Children's Ministry Director

Lisa married her high school sweetheart, Greg, at North Street in 1988. They have two children, Kennedy and Will. Lisa has been connected with the North Street family since her family’s relocation from Indiana in 1977. Lisa graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in elementary education. Greg is a graduate of Texas A&M and stays busy with the farm and rental properties.

Lisa has taught in the public school system and at SFA for 15 years. Lisa enjoys working with young children and hopes to instill a love of Jesus, learning about Jesus and sharing Jesus with others.

Susan Bentley: Sonshine School Director

Susan Bentley has been an active member of the North Street Church of Christ for more than 30 years. She has been a part of Sonshine School for more than 25 years as a parent, teacher and floater and for the last 12+ years as the director. Susan is also active in other ministries at the North Street Church, including the Yellow House ministry, youth group and the Antigua mission trip. She has always loved working with children and believes it is a special treat to be able to give her love to young children. 

Susan has been married to her husband Dan for more than 36 years, and they have three sons, Kevin, John and Daniel. Susan can be contacted at (936) 560-1016 for more information about Sonshine School.

Audrea Vanscoder: Office Manager

Audrea started visiting North Street and the Yellow House Christian Student Center while attending Stephen F. Austin State University, where she met her husband Travis in the late 1990s. They have been married for more than 10 years.

Travis is a fireman for the city of Nacogdoches and a deacon over safety at North Street. Audrea worked at Sonshine School where both of their boys, Lane and Riley, attended. North Street has always been a second home for Audrea, Travis and their boys.
